We truly are better together, burning bright through Holy Barre! Holy Barre is a faith-based fitness group that combines our need to exercise with our hearts’ desire to worship and connect. This full-body barre workout utilizes the very best of pilates, yoga, cardio and strength training and is designed for all levels, ages, and body types. Beyond just the workouts, you can join us for YouVersion Bible Reading Plans, social gatherings, and deeper studies such as The Wellness Revelation. We are better together, created for community, and desire to create a welcoming environment for ALL ladies to grow, connect, strengthen, and love well. KEY SCRIPTURE
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” – Isaiah 9:6 NIV

As we dive deeper into these four titles of Jesus, it’s evident how these can also be used to describe our God and His Spirit as well. So let’s move through this series knowing we celebrate the birth of our King and also knowing He is part of a beautiful trinity with God and Holy Spirit. Thanks be to Jesus for coming to earth to bring all things to life!

While you can find tons of worship-filled workout playlists on Spotify by searching Holy Barre, this Christmas season you’ll find general playlist as well as one for each week’s specific focus, approximately 45-50min in length. All playlists begin with the intent of warming up and gradually building energy towards the middle. Then the music gradually slows down to a cool down and space to be still. These playlists will be used in the workouts provided on YouTube.
Christmas music at 130 BPM is tough to find, so feel free to create your own! Reminder to adjust your Spotify Playback settings so your Crossfade is 4-7s. Makes for smoother transitions between songs.

WEEKLY FOCUS

He will be called Wonderful Counselor
Imagine sitting down with your Counselor, one who knows you better than you know yourself and provides more comfort and peace than you’ve experienced. You’re casually resting on a nice couch. Soothing music is playing. And maybe incense or a candle adds to the calming session. Your Counselor asks, ‘how are you?’. He asks about your day, your week, your family, your work, your struggles, your victories, all of it. He then asks, ‘How did that make you feel?’ And you take a deep breath, asking yourself the same question. As you start to attach an emotion to whatever is on your mind, your Counselor just nods with a smile. ‘I know. I’m sorry. I’m here. I want to help. Let’s talk more.’
The story of Jesus connecting with the Samaritan woman at the well is such a beautiful example of His being our Wonderful Counselor. Despite her sins, society’s stigmas, and culture’s traditions, He guided, counseled, spoke truth, and changed her life in such a way she had to share her experience with others!
Thankfully our generation appreciates the value in counseling. Yet our God gave a Wonderful Counselor through Jesus as well as the ultimate Helper through the Holy Spirit. So get cozy and comfortable. And start talking and praying and sharing. He can handle ALL THE FEELINGS. I promise. He desires to connect with you so deeply and relate to you so intimately that He came to earth!

He will be called Mighty God
Some theologians refer to this title as the Mighty Warrior. I love that imagery, directly following Wonderful Counselor. Our Lord Jesus cares deeply about us just as much as He fights mightily for us! He is our Rescuer and our Redeemer. He’s strong and powerful and victorious over death! Don’t let His humble birth and childhood skew His heavenly reign. The song Marching On by Rend Collective is a favorite in Holy Barre. ‘The battle belongs to the Lord and no one else. We’ll sign hallelujah for all hell to hear. Shout out Hosanna above every fear. Strongholds will crumble like castles of sand. We are marching on. We’re marching on!’
It’s important to note that while we visually see a Mighty Warrior God and even grasp some tangible nature to His power, our Lord looks at the heart. So when we talk about strength and might and power, we’re not referring to bulging biceps and chiseled abs. Nor is this workout’s goal to help you develop your own physique. ‘For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.’ (I Tim 4:8)
Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians beautifully and boldly states the power and might of our God through Christ! Read through this powerful passage, absorbing the truth in your own soul while also using it as a weapon to fight for others! Friends, we serve and love and worship as Mighty Mighty God! He’s drawing near as our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace and any other form of power you need!

He will be called Everlasting Father
Regardless of the variety of relationships with earthly fathers in this audience, our Lord Jesus is our Everlasting Father. Whether you’ve experienced pain and trauma in regards to your father or has been the given the gift of being a ‘daddy’s girl’ here on earth, I pray you have an intimate relationship with your Everlasting Father.
Last week we prayed Ephesians 3:14-15, which reads, ‘For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.’ Colossians 3:17 reminds us we bear the name Lord Jesus and reflect God the Father. Jesus also clearly states He is the way and the truth and the life, the only connection to the Father. Yet as His children, He does not desire works and performance but is our Everlasting Father to provide ‘grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ’. (1 Cor 1:3)
We’ve all had seasons when we’ve hugged someone not wanting to let go. This same picture and feeling comes to mind as we let our hearts and minds imagine an Everlasting Father. One Who loves unconditionally. One Who keeps no records of wrongs. One willing to lay His life down for you.
Everlasting means forever, beginning and end, eternal, with no limits of time. He was and is and is to come! And not only that, but He’s our Daddy! Our Abba, Father! And in the purest form of a father, He’s ready and willing to guide you, protect you, show you how to guard your heart, empower you with truth to overcome, teach you what’s right and good, and spiritually hug you when you just need someone to listen. Just read through Romans 8 . . .

He will be called Prince of Peace
So let’s break this down . . . Jesus is a Prince (just as much as He is a King) because He is God’s Son. And He, only He, brings true peace! There is no plan, law, process, body, relationship, home, job, bank account, trip, what am I missing . . . that brings true peace. Because Jesus’ peace is one beyond understanding. It’s one of love, joy, and peace which bears patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Just like 1 Cor 1:3 from last week states, ‘grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus.’ It’s a peace that stirs us to exhale strife and inhale Spirit. Just stand (or lay or sit) and breath. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. We worship. A Wonderful Counselor. A Mighty God. An Everlasting Father. A Prince of Peace. Because for to US a child is born, to US a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. To US. To YOU. To ME. To US. Inhale. Exhale. Prince of. PEACE . . .
As you breath, with your eyes closed, picture the scene from Luke 2, beginning with. Verse 13 – ‘Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth PEACE to those whom His favor rests.’
