We see throughout scripture the Lord’s desire to connect with us. In seasons of joy, in seasons of pain, in seasons of need, in seasons of abundance, He calls us to come to Him and experience His love. It’s so beautifully simple yet so easily challenging in a broken world of distractions, obligations, avoidances, productivity, and performance-based success. But, Friends, we were created for more than what this crazy world offers. And the first step of discovering theses deeper wells of abundance is connecting with our Savior and experiencing His love. Jesus changes everything!
Just as we each have unique passions, experiences, pains, gifts and bodies, I believe the Lord connects with us in unique and personal ways. While the Lord has brought my husband into a season where he can truly just sit with Jesus, block out what’s going on around him, and experience His love by listening to biblical meditations, the thought of even ‘sitting and blocking everything out’ is foreign to me! Gotta love the unique differences between men and women. Ha!
I have a friend who meets with the Lord through painting, one who meets with Him while sitting outside, one who enjoys walks with the Lord, one who listens to His truth while sitting in a warm bath. For me, I am able to calm my soul, meditate on His truth, and experience His love through moving my body to worship music. Hence the creation of Holy Barre!
So let’s connect with Him. I’ve included some Psalms below to guide you as well as a Holy Barre playlist that contains some of my favorites in this season. While the music is beautiful, the lyrics express powerful truth and love. Whether you’d prefer to lounge on the couch or lunge it out as you listen, He’s ready and eager to hear your heart and show you His love!

“Lord, as we worship you in your temple, we recall over and over your kindness to us and your unending love.”
Psalms 48:9 TPT
(You are now His temple as He dwells in you through His Spirit. Even your breathing is a form of worship . . . let’s not overcomplicate it.)
“Honor me by trusting in me in your day of trouble. Cry aloud to me, and I will be there to rescue you.”
Psalms 50:15 TPT
(Do you know you can yell at God? Like truly cry out to Him – He can handle some cuss words. He’ll lean in even . . . )
“God, I invite your searching gaze into my heart. Examine me through and through; find out everything that may be hidden within me. Put me to the test and sift through all my anxious cares. See if there is any path of pain I’m walking on, and lead me back to your glorious, everlasting way— the path that brings me back to you.”
Psalms 139:23-24 TPT
(Let’s process this well-known Psalms from an internal perspective. This isn’t to be read in such a way that it draws attention to your flaws and negative behaviors and shame. Reflect on the emotions, the anxious cares, the pain, the hurt in your heart . . . invite His gaze into those.)
